Natasha's top surgery aka. The Great Flattening

Hello everyone … gosh. It is a bit nerve-racking to write this because I pride myself in being an independent and self sufficient person. But I have realised that we all need help sometimes. So… where nothing ventured, nothing gained.

To those of you whom I haven’t had the pleasure of making acquaintances with, my name is Natasha and I am currently undergoing the scary task of asking you, dear reader, for help to fund my top surgery.

I’ve sadly struggled with chest dysphoria my whole life, having been mentally drained by having to constantly be aware of the movements, sensations, and overall look of two horrendously foreign objects stuck to my upper body since I entered puberty. I have struggled with the mismatch between feeling at ease with my gender as a whole (bar my breasts), and the general assumption in most societal circles to adhere to a certain box in order to be accepted. But no more.

I have, after several years and uncomfortable and mentally draining consultations and defeats, found a clinic that is able to realise my dream, allowing me to stand proud for the first time in my life. So … here we are.

I have started this gofundme because, despite working a fulltime job, most of my income goes towards rent, bills, and food. I save absolutely everything I can and have been doing various odd jobs in the evenings and weekends to make ends meet. With the surgery, I am looking at a goal of €2600 . I know I won’t meet my goal overnight, and to even write these words is the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but every little helps. To say this surgery would be life changing for me is an understatement. It would be life affirming.

I know we are all trying to stay afloat in a world of bad news being thrown at us from every angle, but please know that every thought and penny means the absolute world to me.
