I have rather foolishly signed up for Gentleman's Fight Night at Oxford Brookes which will be taking place on the 20th March. I'm taking it very seriously and training 5 days a week.

More importantly I thought I would take this as an opportunity to raise some money for a couple of charities very close to my heart.

One is Alzheimer's UK. My Grandfather suffers from Alzheimer's and it has been hard to see the effects this cruel disease has had on him. Anything we can do to help find a cure is so important to many families across the UK.

The second charity that I will be supporting is Narcolepsy UK. Many people don't know what Narcolepsy is; it is a neurological sleep disorder which affects the brains regulation of sleep schedules. This causes extreme energy loss with excessive daytime sleepiness, sudden sleep attacks, cataplexy (temporary muscle paralysis) and sleep paralysis.

My twin brother suffers from Narcolepsy and I have seen first hand the effect this condition has had on him since he was diagnosed at the age of 15. How he got through his school years and manages to cope at University is beyond me and I am enormously proud of him and grateful to Narcolepsy UK for supporting him and thousands of people across the UK.

Finding drugs that effectively help with the challenging symptoms, or even finding a cure for this condition would be fantastic and change the lives of those diagnosed. But sadly this little known charity needs all the support it can get, which is why I am trying to help in my own small way.

I would be so grateful if you could find something to help me make the challenge of boxing in-front of 2500 people more fulfilling and important, it would mean a great deal.
