Nadi Qamar Funeral and Medical Expenses

This fundraiser is to help pay for immediate funeral expenses and outstanding medical costs for Nadi Qamar (AKA Spaulding Givens).

Wed. Oct 21st, 2020 at about 1:40PM CST, Nadi Qamar (aka Spaulding Givens), died after grappling with Covid and other underlying infections. He was 103 years and 3 months old. He has lived a long, rich and incredible life and his legacy lives on in his musical recordings, works, instruments and teachings. Nadi Qamar was a second generation slavery survivor, survivor of colonial genocide(Seminole) , survivor of racism, world traveler, afromusicologist, composer, artist, poet, builder, jazz pianist , professor, father, grandfather, husband and most of all just a beautiful, beautiful human.

All donations will go swiftly and directly to his wife and faithful caretaker to help cover burial, funeral home fees, cost of services, a casket, plot fees and outstanding medical expenses. Assistance and words of comfort for his wife Rose Dolski-Qamar here are deeply appreciated and provide comfort and relieve much pressure. Thank you very much.
