Tour De 4 BIG BIKE Ride for Breast Cancer
This is a biggie, and a massive Team Effort.
Alistair, Hil, Tony, Paulette and I are training hard and raising vital funds for Breast Cancer Now, in preparation for our big Scottish Bike Ride on September 7th.
So most of you are aware Ive just turned 50 and am living positively with Secondary Breast Cancer, but undergoing constant chemo and now needing regular blood transfusions because my haemoglobin is super low due to the drugs that are keeping me alive.
I also fell off my bike in June whilst training and broke my arm. Not ideal with a long, 50+ mile hilly Scottish bike ride approaching. Training is tough. Everything hurts. I’ve had almost ten blood transfusions in the last few months but still trying!
Hil, Alistair, Tony, Paulette and I are riding this challenge together to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now, an amazing charity that not only supports people living with the disease but also does lots of amazing research into treatments that will hopefully allow me to keep riding my bike for years to come!
The aim of the ride is also to change the perception of living with Stage 4 cancer & celebrating what we can still achieve despite the life-limiting diagnosis and gruelling treatment.
So if you could spare a couple of quid to support us on our BIG BIKE RIDE we’d love that. A very small donation is all we need x
Fingers crossed we’re all fit enough to do it on September 7th.
These guys have supported me throughout all my treatment and continue to do so, this is a massive team effort.
Thanks everyone for your support.
