Crikey what to write here to inspire you to donate??? I have cancer, lung cancer of all things, not the cancer I thought I’d get if I was to get any. As a healthy never smoker I really didn’t see it coming but boom one day in November of 2023 that all changed. I went from a spin class one day to facial paralysis the next. Oooo I might get a day off work for this I thought (I literally never had a day off sick) to then finding out I had lung cancer and a couple of brain mets for good measure within 24 hours. To say it was a bit of a brain fryer is an understatement. So I’m doing the Tourde4 to show even those with dodgy lung can take part and also to raise money for EGFR Positive UK (this is the cancer I have). Any contribution is gratefully received, I know lots of these fundraisers come round but in my defence I haven’t ever done one before.

I’m not a keen cyclist, so don’t be fooled by my cover photo. I generally turn up to these things on a bike which needs a service wearing someone else’s kit. This cycle will genuinely be a challenge for me, as I have for the last 18 months mainly used my electric bike so I’ll be dusting off my 25 year old bike to give it a go. So think about my not so healthy but lovely lungs and terrible lack of training that will somehow get me round. Your contribution no matter how big or small will help make an impact.
