My Sister's Leukemia Treatment
Donation protected
We all hope we never have to hear those words. You have cancer. ____ has cancer. Your little sister has cancer. I'll never forget the look on my dad's face when he told me. Mom and Dad, I'm so sorry your daughter has Leukemia.
Elise, 19 years old, was driving to Austin to spend time with family during quarantine when a sore throat stopped her in Dallas. She spent the night at the hospital where they delivered the traumatizing news. This news meant months-on-end of pain, fighting for her life, unable to see family due to quarantine. She is currently undergoing her third round of Chemotherapy and will receive a bone marrow transplant from me in July. As sisters, we are incredibly lucky to be a 100% bone marrow match.
Asking for money is hard and it took me already too long to do so. There is not much I can type that can convey the worry and fear and pain our family feels every day. If you have had to go through something similar, I am deeply sorry. And if you haven't, I hope you never will.
This money is not needed urgently, but over time the bills will add up. Unfortunately, it is not cheap or free to save my baby sister's life.
Money will go to:
Medical bills
Fertility treatment
Cancer coping tools
Support for Elise and her family
It hurts all of us to see someone so young go through something so traumatic and painful.
Any amount helps and everything is appreciated. I know times are hard for all of us, so please take care of yourself, and if you cannot donate it is more than understandable. There are other ways to help (verbal support, sending protective/healing energy, a card ). My family and I are deeply grateful for all the support received.
