Journey to Mental Health Recovery
Don protégé

Hello, my name is Samantha, and I’m making this post on behalf of my love, my partner. I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story.
On Jan. 23rd, 2024, our lives took an unexpected turn when my significant other succumbed to the pressures of modern life, with prior history of a diagnosed anxiety disorder she experienced her first psychotic episode.
While I was at work, she got into her car and drove 5 hours out of state, unaware of where she was going or what she was doing, thinking she was just sitting at home, until her car ran out of gas and she got stranded on the side of the freeway. We were lucky enough to get her admitted into the local ER with the help of the police and trained crises volunteers, while myself and her dearest friend and wife from back home made the trek to get to her as quickly as possible. After a night of observation in the ER they determined the best place for her to be was an inpatient facility; unfortunately that just so happens to be 5 hours from our home. Donations will immediately help with the traveling expenses and overnight stay expenses, missed work and hospital bills.
She will need a long term, steady aftercare, treatment plan when she is finally healthy enough to be discharged. Myself now being the sole earner of our house hold at this time, while my partner is in treatment, I am struggling to fathom how I am going to afford to keep up while also physically being there to support her.
Any amount you’re willing to contribute will go towards lifting the financial burden this adds to an already stressful and chaotic situation, and enable us to get her the aftercare she needs to return to her outgoing, driven, goofy self. If you aren’t in a place to contribute, we completely understand, but if this story resonates with you, a share to your friends and family is equally as beneficial and would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much for your time and consideration.
