My brain surgery recovery

Here’s my story: My name is Johnathan Julien, I’m 23 years old, and as crazy as it sounds, I’m recovering from brain surgery. On the 20th of august 2022, I suffered from a traumatic brain injury that left me with a skull fracture and 2 brain hematomas, luckily, I was able to catch it on time. From being a full-time nursing student, to working every day as a bartender, and leaving my home with my head on my shoulders, knowing that I would be able to face the world with my full strength, wasn’t my reality anymore. In the blink of an eye, my whole world changed upside down. This brain injury caused me to question myself if I’m able to open the hospital window by myself, rather than run 5km at the gym every day. It caused me to read only one page at my full strength, rather than pulling an all-nighter in order to succeed my nursing exam. The truth is, it’s been rough starting from scratch. You question yourself how you’re going to deal with life knowing that you must start from the very beginning. Luckily, I was surrounded by the people that I love in order to help me make things better and never give up on hope! I think that life has its ways of giving you your own life lesson, and from hearing that you would’ve been dead in 1 week without surgery, makes you see life from a totally different perspective. The truth is, I’ve always been the guy that never wanted to ask for help and tell myself that I’ll be able to succeed everything in my life by myself, but I’m realizing now, that I do need help from others in order to get back on my feet, and that it’s okay to admit it, especially if it’ll help you to become better and stronger. This is why I’ve started this campaign in order to help me get back on track with this new second life that was given to me. I don’t know how things will go from here, but I guess all that can happen is just become better! A quick thank you to everyone who has supported me through these hard times, I truly love you guys.
