My name is Ray. I was an international student, now graduate. I came to UK to study a degree at university, to fulfil my dream like everyone else. Tragically, I came across some bad people. I was wrongly accused of harassment by a classmate. She wrongfully accused me out of her pure vindictiveness and spite.

I did not have the resources to pay for a legal defense team, therefore my case was not properly prepared, my evidence was not submitted, my defence was not presented for trial at all. These above factors materially contributed the unjust outcome of my trial. As a result, I was found guilty, wrongfully convicted and received a penalty of fines at Magistrates Court.

I have appealed to the Crown Court. My appeal's retrial date has been confirmed. A specialist legal defense barrister has agreed to take on my appeal. The legal representation fee is £3000.

As a recent international graduate, I am not eligible for any type of benefits nor welfare, and I have no one to help me at all. With my appeal hearing only few months away, it’s impossible for me to come up with this large sum of legal defense funds.

My life has been totally destroyed for the past 3 years. I suffered from depression. Also, as an indirect consequence of this wrongful court verdict, my graduate work permit application was refused at first, then placed on hold pending the outcome of appeal retrial. So winning this appeal retrial actually decides my entire future in this country. If I lose this appeal retrial, I will permanently lose my work permit, then I will never be able to find any work in UK.

This is my one and only chance to fight back against this unfair injustice, to fight back against the complainant's lies, vindictiveness and the malicious prosecution. I was hunted down by the joint forces of university and police. I am totally innocent. I did absolutely nothing wrong. And I have strong evidence for my defense. But I can't afford to pay for my £3000 legal defense fund.
