Montrose Music Festival 2023

Hello Montrose Music Festival Supporters & Sponsors!

We're coming into the third year of our Community Arts & Music Festival (July 28, 29, 30, 2023). We've been asked to bring a lot of various arts and acts to the festival by our friends and fans. So far, we have only been operating on funds donated by local business sponsors and local anonymous farmers.

Partly because of the request to bring certain artists to the festival, as well as the majority of the financial weight being put on local sponsors and donors, we've decided to expand our community of supporters to help increase the festival budget. The ultimate goal is for the festival to become more self-sufficient.

The first two years of the festival have been free, with the exception of our Saturday night indoor stage. This year, we are planning to have at least three stages (a Friday night indoor stage, a Saturday afternoon outdoor stage, and a Sunday after-church Cowboy Poetry program) and a more involved kids' program (including their costume parade). We will be selling wristbands to attend the various stages. Meanwhile, the campground song circles will be free throughout the weekend and $ PATRONS $ at the My Place Cafe can listen to live music by various artists featured at this indoor stage, hosted by Charlie Roth.

We LOVE how well attended our first two festivals have been, and that we more than doubled in size the second year. But festivals are CrAzY expensive and require a lot of running around, gas, advertising, staff/musician kitchen, website, and printing expense (in addition to paying the talent). So far, most of this work has fallen on the festival founder and organizer, Matt Fockler.

Your donation will speak volumes to the community this festival is all about. We also want to give a special shout-out to a few of the previous years' key donors and supporters: Big J's Roadhouse (Humboldt), Sunset Pawn Shop (Sioux Falls), and Ben's Brewery (Yankton).

This festival wouldn't be possible without you. Your donation enables us to bring in more artists and a larger variety of talent. Plus, it lets us dream even bigger about all that this festival could be. So far, all the money has been put back in the festival. Ultimately, the goal of the festival is to become profitable enough to have ticket sales and merchandise profit go toward supporting the Montrose swimming pool and park system.

P.S. We have also decided NOT to become a non-profit organization so that we can have complete artistic freedom to hold to the vision we are after.
