Unfortunately, the recent flooding in Monmouth has had a huge impact on our club and rugby community.

Every one of our pitches were flooded, and consequently unplayable for the foreseeable future.

Our two storage shipping containers were flooded, after moving some distance from their original location! 

Our army of fantastic volunteers have spent the last few weeks clearing, sorting and making an inventory of everything we’ve lost.

Our containers on the Sports Ground housed an immense amount of equipment including, post protectors, tackle pads/rings/shields to name a few. All of which had to be disposed of due to the contamination risk.

Additionally from our store cupboard within one container, we lost all our replacement first aid kit supplies, match day kit, leisure wear, rugby balls and bibs.

All our #MonFest young rugby festival equipment has also been damaged and had to be disposed of.

The electrics box that controls our newly invested in floodlights on Chippenham Fields was damaged beyond repair and will need replacing.

Replacement costs for everything has amounted to well over £20,000.

We, as a club are fundraising to try and replace as much kit as possible, to enable all age groups to have the equipment they need to train and host home games in the future.

We are determined to get our young rugby players back playing on Chippy as soon as we can in the New Year!
