Mom needs some help during treatment

Hello Family, Friends, Friends of Friends,

My name is Jamie and I have started this Fund on behalf of my mother, Stephanie .

For those of you who may not know my mother, she is a classic example of a strong, spit fire of a woman who's always happy to lend a hand to those in need. As a widow and single mother, she has overcome adversity and struggles with the love and support of family and friends.

Her faith in God and love for her children and grandchild have fueled her strength to battle physical and medical challenges in the past . Stephanie has survived Stage 3 breast cancer , double knee replacement and a hip surgery; Like I said ,she's a tough cookie !

In the past 2 months my mom started to experience some minor medical issues that seemed to persist with no relief even while following the guidance of medical professionals.

Two weeks ago things started to spiral.

On September 21st my mom was admitted to the hospital for an emergency blood transfusion, she was dizzy and weak and her blood levels were low. The next day the doctors decided to do a procedure to test her bone marrow.

On Tuesday September 28th the doctors confirmed her diagnosis-

-Myelodysplastic Syndrome- This is know as a early form of Leukemia . Her body no longer makes enough healthy, normal blood cells in the bone marrow.

Our family is still learning about the details of this disorder, side effects, etc and how we need to prepare for the treatment plan needed for mom.

Stephanie is currently unable to work and in an assisted living facility where she is working on getting her strength back in order to start the chemotherapy treatments needed to keep this disorder from progressing.

The Family is working together to support her, but can not cover the majority of the financial burden.

This funds collected will be used to cover cost of living expenses, time off, treatment, in home care, physical therapy and any other health related issues that arise for her and the family.
