Mögi's Surgery: A Family's Urgent Plea
Spende geschützt

Hello Furrrends!
Mögi and our family wish to thank each and every one of you who've contributed both blessings and donations towards Mögi's amputation. The surgery went well and Mögi is navigating life as a tripawd like a pro! (It wasn't too hard, considering he was already only operating on 3 legs as it was). The scar is barely noticable and he has found himself a bit more capable without his "dangle leg" getting in the way. After two weeks of keeping him safe from injury, he is finally ready to get back out in the world - ready for head scratches and love and any available snacks someone might have for him.
We are still managing the cost of Mögi's surgery and post operative care, so any donations moving forward will be greatly appreciated. I will be ordering tee-shirts (see photos) for anyone who might be interested. The cost is $25 and will be contributed to this GoFundMe. Any contributions received beyond our target goal will be donated to the Jefferson County Humane Society.
Thank you!
Sincerely, Mögi and Family

Original post:
Hello,
I'm requesting donations on behalf of my pup, Mogi, a 6 month old MalamutexGSD mix with a congenital deformity of his right forelimb. Thursday evening as I

was preparing dinner for my kids, I heard him crying in pain from the other room, where he was playing with his tennis ball. Unsure of what happened I started to investigate for injuries. It became clear it was his deformed leg causing him immense pain. I tied the end of one arm of a tee shirt and used it to support his injury until we could have it looked at the next morning. X rays showed a broken humerus and possibly a broken ulna.
What I heard next was expected but no less heartbreaking: Mögi would need an amputation as soon as possible. Without hesitation, we scheduled his surgery for Monday morning.
I was given several medications, info packets for the medications, his treatment plan and the estimate for the cost of amputation, none of which I explored too deeply until we got home. When I had a chance to look into the estimated cost - which includes sedation, anesthesia, meds for recovery, and a follow-up appointment - along with the amputation, my heart sank and my head filled with dread and anxiety as I realized I have no means to cover the entire cost. I combed over the clinic's website in search of payment plan options and learned that they require payment at the time of service. They do provide a link to a site offering credit for emergency pet services however I wasn't pre-approved due to how young that history is (3 years).
I am firmly in a state of panic and anxiety and I look over my finances, wondering how I can make it work.
Mögi is a beloved member of my community and has a heart bigger than any other I know. He is recognized and loved by all who knows him.
I'm terrified to death that I will fail not only Mögi and his chance at a long and happy life, but also my 2 young kids who depend on me to make him all better so they can go on to make years worth of memories for them to cherish the rest of their lives.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. Any help provided will be met with love and gratitude.
