I'm asking for contributions to help purchase a used medivan for my friend Joel who is entering the final stages of ALS.
I built Joel a wheelchair ramp last fall and because of the difficulty in transferring from his wheelchair to a car seat, he only leaves his home for medical necessities.
Joel spent his career painting large Astor neighborhood homes, as Green Bays Perfect Painters, of which he is very proud of.
I'm hoping to take Joel on short trips past these homes and other Green Bay landmarks while he still has his limited ability to speak.
I have seached Craigslist and there are several vans that appear in good shape for our short journeys.
With the purchase we can travel when Joel's health and energy level would allow.
