Mike Kerkezian's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Amy Pohl, and I am Mike's sister-in-law. I am working with a team to organize a fundraiser to help Mike Kerkezian with mounting expenses due to his recent tragic motorcycle accident.
On Friday, Sept 23rd, Mike set out to enjoy life on a Harley Davidson ride to Lake Tahoe with friends. Mike lost control of his motorcycle (cause unknown) on a descending mountain road. The loss of control sent him into a head-on collision with a passenger car. His body ricocheted off the vehicle, then impacted a road sign where most of the force was sustained at the chest and ribs. Mike lay on the side of the road while friends and witnesses called for emergency assistance.
Mike was airlifted to Doctor's Medical Center in Modesto. Medical professionals called to transfer him by helicopter to the Trauma ICU at UC Davis.
Mike's condition is severe. Mike's injuries are extensive. He suffered: a minimum of 6 broken ribs, fractured lumbar vertebrae, and tears to the aorta, kidneys, liver, and other soft tissues. Mike is also showing hematomas on his brain. Internal swelling, bleeding, and blood clots are all areas of concern. Mike will need several surgeries and rehab to overcome his growing injury list. Please pray for Mike and the others involved, as the trauma was immense for the other driver and those that witnessed the event.
Currently, what WE KNOW is that we are all fortunate to be a part of Mike's journey to fight for life. Mike loves life. Those who know Mike know him as Mikey, Limo Mike, or Ed-Boy. He loves his nicknames, and he also loves giving nicknames to others. Mike is the facilitator of fun and usually the person scanning the room trying to engage others in conversation or activity. Mike is a loving brother, a devoted son, and a lover of the outdoors. He especially loves all things with a motor and his doggie Thor who is often found riding shotgun while he drives his limos. Mike even prefers Thor's haircut to include bells at the feet because he likes his dog to be as stylish as him. Mike loves the Bay Area and the Discovery Bay community, where he boats and has many friends. He is a role model for friendship and business.
Please consider contributing whatever you can to help reduce the mounting stressors. Together, we can reassure Mike that he is loved by trying to offset the unimaginable and unexpected mounting finances while He fights for his life. The extent of medical bills will be extreme, and wages will inherently be lost.
The money you give will be given to Mike and Krystal Kerkezian to pay medical bills, provide care for Mike when he gets home, and offset the lost income needed to keep accounts current while they are not working. We need Mike to win this battle. This tragedy has put them both out of work for the immediate time, and they need our support.
Anything you can give helps. Please share this request for help with as many people on as many platforms as possible.
