Anne Puricelli is organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Michaels Children.
Thank you for visiting the fundraising page for Mike Hill, one of six victims of the Covenant School shooting which saw three students and three staff killed for zero reason. First and foremost, Mike's children are aware of this fundraising effort and has been beyond moved by the outpouring of love. In the wake of this tragedy, they ask for continued prayers and strength and thank the Nashville community and beyond for their thoughts, prayers and donations. As of Friday, March 31, grieving citizens the world over have donated over $550,000 for Mike's family. The emails and letters shared through this page have brought so much healing and hope to the family. All prayers, wishes and offers have been communicated to the Hill family, who continues to be eternally grateful for the love bestowed on their family. Simply put, they are amazing people, even in the midst of their unimaginable pain.
The goal of this GoFundMe is to raise money for Covenant School shooting victim, school custodian Mike Hill. Mike, thank you for protecting Nashville’s children. While every single loss in a shooting like this is an inexcusable tragedy, Mike is one who should not be overlooked in the wake of this senseless loss.
This GoFundMe is started by a fellow Nashville parent who lives in the community who simply wants to honor the beloeved Mike Hill... Big Mike, Mr. Mike, Michael. Nashville is a small community, tight-knit and one which felt especially safe - until March 27, 2023. Mike’s family deserves peace of mind that his loss was not in vain and that some good can come from it. His legacy can live on through goodwill and love. In the end, love should always win.
Mike was the beloved father of eight children and grandfather to fourteen. More notably, he was "Big Mike" to his students, who will surely feel his loss in the years to come. Per his children, he took great pleasure and found tremendous joy in his job and through those students. He always went above and beyond whenever he could. His life may not always have been easy, but he lived to serve and that he did until his very last day.
A public viewing has been scheduled for Monday, April 3 and the funeral service will be Tuesday, April 4.
All money raised via this GoFundMe will be directed in its entirety to Mike’s family to put towards funeral services, expenses and to further dedicate to causes close to their hearts to facilitate healing in the Covenant and Nashville communities. Mike deserves to be remembered for his selfless act protecting our children.
Please note that other fundraising efforts are in place for Covenant victims' families and survivors, including GoFundMe campaigns for the other victims. If so moved, I would encourage you to also visit their pages. Thank you to those who have taken the time to spread hope and love. As Mr. Rogers' mother told him, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." THANK YOU for being a helper, each and every one of you.
I am in direct communication with Mike's children as well as the Covenant School. This campaign is not about me but GoFundMe requires that I share my personal information for validation. My only goal is to create something positive in this space we find outselves, to do something, anything, to start the healing. Anne Puricelli - Nashville
