Just a few days ago, Mike’s life changed completely.

After experiencing severe headaches, weakness, and other concerning symptoms, Mike returned to hospital for further tests. Following urgent scans, doctors discovered a large tumour measuring approximately 4.6cm at the front of his brain.

The tumour is causing significant swelling and pressure, and Mike is now under the care of the specialist skull-base neurosurgical team at the University Hospital of Wales. He is currently awaiting urgent surgery and further treatment.

As if facing a life-changing diagnosis was not enough, Mike had recently found himself in the difficult position of leaving his employment shortly before receiving this devastating news.

Anyone who knows Mike knows how hardworking, proud, and fiercely independent he is. However, right now, working is simply not an option, and there is considerable uncertainty around how long his treatment and recovery will take.

The tumour and the swelling surrounding it has already begun to affect Mike in ways that are incredibly challenging. He is experiencing confusion, memory difficulties, and an increased vulnerability as he comes to terms with everything that has happened so suddenly.

As Mike’s partner, alongside two of his closest friends, we have created this GoFundMe page to help support Mike and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

Our hope is to ease some of the financial pressure so that Mike can focus entirely on what matters most — his treatment, recovery, and spending precious time with those who love him.

At just 45 years old, Mike is facing a challenge that nobody expects to encounter, especially alongside the uncertainty of losing his job. While we do not yet know exactly what the coming weeks and months will bring, we do know that the road ahead will be a difficult one.

What we also know is that Mike is not facing it alone.
