Michelle Wadsworth's Road to Recovery

There is no one reading this who doesn’t think of Michelle without also thinking about her sense of humor, her love of life, her brilliance with a pair of scissors, her larger than life presence, and her way of making every single person she meets feel like they are spending time with their best friend.  Michelle has never met a stranger, and her generosity and laughter is only outshone by the love she has for her family. 

On Monday evening, Michelle suffered a massive stroke at home.  Her husband Brian was able to get her to the hospital quickly, but not before two separate clots caused major damage to her brain.  As of this writing, Michelle is still in the ICU and is mostly paralyzed on the left side of her body.  Michelle appears to have had a previously undiagnosed condition that caused her carotid artery to tear during a run of the mill stomach virus she had a few days prior.  To say that everyone who loves her is shocked and devastated is an understatement.

So many of you – hundreds of you – have reached out to Brian, their children, her mom Linda, and sisters Laura and Sheila to ask what you can do, what they need, and how you can help. Michelle is looking at a long and difficult recovery. After she is eventually released from the hospital, she will need to receive months long physical and occupational therapy to regain her mobility and the use of her left side. With her surgery, intensive care, hospitalization, and eventual in-patient rehabilitation, Michelle and Brian’s expenses are rapidly mounting.  They have also lost Michelle’s main source of income – her salon business. 

Everyone who loves her knows her fighting spirit and are confident that if anyone can achieve a full recovery it will be her, but Michelle and her family need your help.  Please reach into your hearts and prayerfully give what you can to help Brian, Ross, Zoe, Taylor and Megan be able to cover the growing costs of Michelle’s treatments and the loss of her ability to run her business.
