My bestfriend, Julie Michaud, was first diagnosed in 2010 with stage 3b breast cancer at 29 years old. After treatment, she looked to be in the clear of cancer until 2015. While 40 weeks pregnant with their third child, Julie and her husband discovered the cancer had come back in her ribs and her lung. Julie is unable to work due to a car accident in 2008, but her husband is a member of the navy, proudly serving Canada. This however leaves them with a single income, and her husband frequently needs to travel.
Trying to care for their children (aged 6, 2, and 1 year old) can be trying as Julie is on chemotherapy, tiring her, and her back/shoulder injury from the MVA still cause her great pain. The Michaud family is trying to live a typical family life while juggling hospital appointments, trips to the emergency room, treatment, and deployments.
On top of their current struggles, they have also recently come into some unexpected vet emergencies for 2 of their beloved animals. Their lovely cat, Id recently broken her leg, and their beautiful dog, Link developed a hematoma on his ear :(
This GoFundMe is being set up to try to help lessen their financial burden, help with child care when Julie is incapable of caring for the kids, help with the house when things are to difficult, and all the surprises cancer holds in store when you're in your 30's with metastatic breast cancer.
