On March 6, 2017 I sustained injuries during a bad fall while skiing in South Lake Tahoe. My ACL was completely torn apart, my medial meniscus partially torn as well as sprains to my proximal lateral collateral ligament, popliteus tendinosis and a popliteus muscle-tendon junction strain (where my calf muscle meets behind my knee). From this accident, I am unable to work at all for up 6 months and possibly longer depending on my recovery time. I found out a few days ago that my leave from work will be completely unpaid and there is nothing I can do to change it. I will receive a few hundred dollars (hopefully) from NY state disability, but other than that, virtually no income.

My surgery has been scheduled for next Thursday, March 16th, and I was informed this morning that I need to have $2,600 in cash up front for that surgery to take place. My insurance out of pocket maximum will be just over $5,000 and between my doctor visits already, surgery, post op doctor visits as well as my physical therapy I will be meeting the entire $5,000.

I am not someone who ever wants to ask for help from other people because I know we all have our own problems to deal with, but I have been asked by a few people if they can help financially. This was a last resort, but at this point I really don't know what else to do to come up with the money needed to fix my knee.
