Michael Toler's medical bills & expenses.

Hi I'm Tina King & I am fundraising for my dear friend since childhood, my brother from another mother... MICHAEL TOLER - On July 18th Michael suffered an aortic aneurysm that required emergency surgery to save his life.

Aneurysms can occur anywhere in the thoracic aorta, including near the heart, in the aortic arch and in the lower part of the thoracic aorta. Thoracic aortic aneurysms are less common than aneurysms that form in the lower part of your aorta. MIke's aorta walls were bleeding on BOTH sides, the doctor said without surgery, he would die.

Michael's surgery alone is 80K- only 15K was covered by his insurance. That doesn't include his recovery, living expenses or continued hospital stay. He has had some complications, causing him to be in and out of ICU, he is still in the hospital as I write this. He will need intensive therapy and rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility after his hospital stay. *SO WE NEED TO MEET & EXCEED HIS GOAL*

His road to recovery is proving to be long & difficult. While he may be able to do some of his usual activities after about 4 to 6 weeks. Mike will probably need 2 to 3 months to fully recover. Some people find that they feel sad or more emotional than usual while they are recovering after this surgery, making recovery even more challenging for Michael. This may last for up to 6 weeks after surgery.

Michael's loving Mother Ocie, is at his bedside. She & my Mom were dearest friends & worked together for many, many years at Nichols Hospital. I know Mom would want us all to help Michael & Ocie during this difficult time. I know she's in heaven watching over them now. Please help if you can & keep Michael in your prayers. Also remember Ocie as she watches over him. I love you both so very much.

Michael once drove from one end of Houston to the other to make sure I was okay. I had gotten stranded there after a canceled flight. He brought me food, deodorant, a toothbrush & toothpaste... even though he had been working all day. As soon as he knew I was in need, he dropped what he was doing & came to my rescue... That's the kind of friend he's been for as long as I can remember, more like a brother. So if you could help him, I will be forever grateful. He would do the same for me.
