Michael James Leckie was born in the Philippines on October 8th 1983, and was quickly adopted by Anita and David Leckie. They certainly knew a Gem when they've seen one. Michael has always cared a great deal about family, and he even considered some (or all) of his friends to be some form of extended family.
He had passion for motorcycles (and loved to tinker with them), computers and gaming, spending time with his beloved dogs, and helping any friend who was in need (whether it be a hug, a shoulder to cry on, or an unbiased person to chat an ear off about what's been bugging ya').

He believed in respect and always living by the truth. Most of you who know him are familiar with "Veritas" tattooed across his forearm.- this means "Truth" in Latin. This is one of the many quality traits that Michael upheld his entire life without fail.

I could continue for pages upon pages about the genuine person that Michael Leckie lived to be. Most of you who are here already know him well, and he has touched your heart in some way, shape or form. He has left a good impression on all of us on how we should treat others around us. 
Michael Leckie unexpectedly passed away yesterday August 31st, and we are all at a significant loss without him here to continue to enrich our lives.

Lets give back to his family, the family that he held so close to his heart and above anyone else, because they need support now more than anyone during this difficult time. They brought this wonderful human being into our lives and are part of the reason that Michael was the way he was- they instilled these values of caring, compassion, and respect into him while he matured to adulthood and this made him the man we knew and love fondly to this day. 
The Leckies are a loving family, who have just lost their first Son.  We may have known him for a fraction of our lives, but the Leckie family has known and loved him much longer. If I feel this way now, I simply cannot imagine what they are going through.  Let's do Michael a favor and take care of his family during this crisis when he can't be here to do so himself. After everything he has done for us to impact our lives, we owe him at least that.
