Please donate to help Micaela Sorensen

My name is Heather Southwick and I’m reaching out to ask for help for my dear friend, Micaela Sorensen (Schmanski), who was in a terrible car accident.

She was heading home from work Wednesday night, and just 2 blocks from home was T-boned by another driver in a truck who wasn’t paying attention and didn’t yield. Micaela was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be fully evaluated for her injuries. She suffered multiple cuts and scrapes and a severely broken left hand which will require surgery and likely some physical therapy. We’re very lucky and extremely grateful it wasn’t worse.

However, the one car Micaela and Nate shared has been totaled. She had to take a Lyft the next morning to the pharmacy to pick up her pain medication. She’s not able to work right now as she’s not able to use her hand.

I would love to travel to Vancouver to do what I can to help, but they are also in the process of having to find a new place to live that’s within their budget and move. (They’re not being evicted; they’ve lived in this house for the past 11 years. The renter is wanting to rent to family moving back to the area.)

The goal amount we have set will help with medical bills, finding an affordable car, and moving expenses. If you’re not able to help with a donation please share, and please let us know of any leads on an affordable vehicle, or home for rent in the Vancouver area that allows pets.
