Mia Rose fundraiser in loving memory of Daddy Rica

Hello Everyone my name is John. Almost a year ago we were shocked and saddened to find our friend Ricardo suddenly passed away. I am doing this fundraiser in memory of Ricardo and to help he's little girl.
On 26th of April, 2020 Ricardo passed away in CUH due to a raptured brain aneurysm. That day we lost a son, a brother, a loving partner, a great and trusting friend and, most importantly, an amazing father to be who never got to meet his daughter Mia Rose.
Ricardo was a healthy and fit individual who always thrived to better his own life and the lives of those around him. He was a huge football fan and his absolute favourite team was FC Porto. Not only did he follow football, he also played it very well. Throughout the years he was a part of different football teams and never said no to a game of ball amongst his friends.
Ricardos life was sadly taken away due to a raptured brain aneurysm. As it later turned out he was born with AVM (Arteriovenous Malformations) which are defects in the vascular system, consisting of tangles of abnormal blood vessels. He lived 25 years without any symptoms which, as a result, went untreated and caused his death.
Ricardos partner, Ieva, was only 9 weeks pregnant when he passed away. They were absolutely thrilled to know that they will become parents and were patiently waiting to go for their first scan and see their baby grow. Mia is now 5 months old and looks exactly like her daddy.
I have created this fundraiser as a memorial for Ricardo and also to help Ieva and Mia Rose in their future. As part of this fundraiser, on sunday June 6th 2021, I will be running the Cork City virtual Marathon at 7am and the Cork City virtual half Marathon at 5pm. 40 miles on the day in total to honor Ricardo and keep his spirit alive. I will be running in his football teams FC Porto jersey with his favourite number - 10. I would ask people to join me on this day and run/walk the full or half marathon for Ricardo and his daughter Mia.
This, by no means, will help with the emotional distress Ricardos family have been facing, however we really hope that these donations will ease their financial unstability and go towards their general well-being and overheads now faced with the loss of one critical income into the household. All proceeds will go directly to late Ricardos partner.
Ricardos parents and partner would also like to use this opportunity to encourage everyone to go for MRI and CT scans as these can detect any abnormalities in the brain thus helping detect AVM.
