Alondra’s Road to Recovery
Donación protegida
Hi, my name is Alondra Garcia and I was a victim of a head on collision in SA, TX on August 5th, 2023 alongside 3 other individuals. First things first, I wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes during this difficult time, I am truly just grateful that we have all survived.
Unfortunately, due to the gravity of the collision, I have been in the ICU suffering from multiple injuries that will take weeks and even months to fully heal, leaving me without the ability to work or support myself independently.
I have broken 2-8 of my ribs on my left side, 2 ribs on my right side, broken both of my clavicles, fractured my sternum, fractured my cervical nerve C7 in my spine, punctured my lungs, punctured my bowel, small intestine, pancreas and spleen, as well as bruised the receptors behind my left eye affecting my retina that has temporarily left me without vision. Thankfully I received an emergency surgery the night of the collision to clear any liquid or punctures in my stomach and spleen, that was successful.
I am grateful to say I have been healing accordingly and the nurses/doctors are seeing great progress. Unfortunately due to the pain of my broken bones and fractures, I have had great difficulty breathing which will extend my hospital stay as well as my healing process. It is estimated by my medical team that I will not be fully healed from my injuries for another 14-16 weeks. Again, although I am grateful to be alive and not have any life threatening injuries, my healing process will leave me out of work long term, piling medical bills and cause me great financial stress.
With this being said, any donation or prayer and good wishes are greatly appreciated as I heal from this physically and emotionally traumatizing accident. Thank you again ❤️
