Over the past 30 years, MHC Tanzania has supported the orphaned children of Morogoro through an unwavering commitment to their social care, education, health, and wellbeing. To date, over 1,500 children have been assisted either through residence in the orphanage itself or through the provision of vital resources and educational opportunities to help them thrive. In addition to financial support for these operations, Living Waters Church has aided in the development of numerous community projects including in transportation and food/agriculture. Each of these initiatives were spearheaded by MHC Tanzania to both address broader challenges, and to create a sustainable solution for the organisation’s ongoing ability to self-fund.
Recently, MHC Tanzania has transitioned from primarily being an orphanage, into a reunification hub - focusing on connecting children with their nearest relatives and financially supporting the family, allowing them to grow up in a more traditional, loving family environment. This innovative model enables the charity to continue its financial support for the children, while fostering stronger family and community bonds. We are actively collaborating with local government and social workers to formalise this reunification work, hoping to establish a new standard for child welfare in the region.
