Give the gift of hearing!

This quote is perfect, especially for this occasion. My sister is an inspriation to many; caring, loving, selfless, encouraging...the whole shebang =)

Almost anyone who knows Christina, knows that she has been partially deaf which led into complete deafness in her early teen years. She was diagnosed with vestibular aquaduct syndrome, treated at Riley for years prior to having cochlear impant surgeries on both sides of her head. That was an absolutely amazing feeling; seeing her being able to experience something that we all take for granted everyday. Downfall to it, which we all know there just HAS to be one, is the fact that these devices are very expensive, not being covered by insurance to be specific. That being said, Christina's external parts to her device have been failing for  almost a year. She's spending hundreds of dollars on batteries, changing them daily.  I have changed the goal on here, due to fears of not being able to reach the entirety that is needed. Her individual external pieces that need replacing are hundreds of dollars individually, the whole implant device itself being much more pricey.  Mind you, if any part of this  breaks prior to having a replacement, she will not be able to hear my sweet nephew's voices when calling her mommy, her husband telling her how much she is loved or how beautiful she truly is, or just the simplicity of nature or  life has to offer. I, nor my family, have the resources or means to take care of this cost for her, so we're reaching out for help to reassure Christina that she IS worth the gift of hearing, and that what she does for everyone does NOT go without recognition.
