My name is Angela, and I am an advocate for young girls to have access to resources that support their menstrual health.
Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) is essential to the well-being and empowerment of women and adolescent girls. Every day, more than 300 million women worldwide are menstruating. However, an estimated 500 million lack access to menstrual products and adequate facilities for proper menstrual hygiene management (MHM).
To effectively manage menstruation, girls and women need access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities, affordable and appropriate menstrual hygiene materials, information on best practices, and a supportive environment free from embarrassment or stigma.
This project aims to eliminate period poverty by ensuring that girls across Africa have access to sanitary pads during their menstruation.
