On June 10th of 2016, Melodie Pace of Maple Ridge, BC was travelling home from her job as a trade worker in the film industry when a truck stuck her car in a t-bone collision . The accident left her with a traumatic brain injury (diffuse axonal) and she now suffers from tremors and cognitive deficiencies.
Melodie is 25 years old.
These complex injuries mean she is unable to work. Over the past 4 months, Melodie has relied upon medical employment insurance (expiring this week), her life savings and the financial support of close friends and family—but these resources are exhausted. Her auto insurance claim will hopefully provide some financial relief in the future, but that process will take at least another 18 months before she receives a single dollar. She needs help now.
Melodie has assisted countless girls and young women in vulnerable circumstances through her volunteering. She did not ask me to setup this page, but she desperately needs others to come to her aid during this time. A donation will help a good person navigate a terrible turn in her life and chart a new course for her future.
