On February 8th (Gene's 56th birthday of all things!), it was discovered that he had osteomyelitis in his right foot...for those of us that don't have a degree in medicine, this is a terrible infection that has gone to the bone. Four days later and he underwent surgery to save his life. Unfortunately this meant that he would loose his leg.

His spirit is strong & his attitude is great, but he's in for a long, hard road. Several things are needed to aid in his recovery...things like a prosthetic leg, a ramp to get into his home, a shower seat so he can bathe (cuz nobody wants him to not bathe!) and even a treadmill so he can keep his body strong. All these things cost money, so much money, and on such a limited income, getting these things are going to be a daunting task.

Here's where you come in! Any amount can help! And you can share this message to all of your friends because they can help too! We really have no idea what kinds of costs his recovery is going to be. But what we do know is that this man is one of the strongest, most deserving men we know!
