Medical Supplies for Ira Kuzma

Hi everyone, my name is Lisa Marie and I am the (as told by them) "adopted niece" of Ira and Marie Kuzma, but mostly... just a friend trying to help.

Over 2 months ago, Ira suffered multiple strokes on both sides of his head and down the back of the neck. To spare the details, he was blessed to survive. Through the persistence of his angel wife, Marie and the incredible knowledge of all of the doctors, surgeons and nurses at the multiple hospitals he has been staying in… he is alive, can talk and is his normal Ira-self… cognitively. He misses the community, his friends and his family… and would deeply love to start seeing visitors.

Now, the less-than-good news- his right side is not mobile...yet. He has finally begun physical therapy and is starting to feel nerve activity. Sometimes extremely painful, sometimes hopeful… however, it is unfortunately, a long and unknown road ahead.

There are many hurdles to jump through that Marie is trying to manage on her own. As you can imagine, no one is ready for their loved one to have a stroke, nor is knowledgeable on all of the necessary things that will make Ira’s life easier when he returns home.

After talking to Marie, I may get a not-so-nice talking to for doing this, but they have a few large expenses that I don't want them to have to think about, worry about setting up or purchasing or renting.

-Hospital bed

-Minor home renovations for wheelchair accessibility

-Help with keeping up the house (cleaners)

- In-home nursing is covered through Medicare… partially, but they will need more assistance than 2x a week.

This beautiful couple is always reaching out to others, supporting the artists and friends in the community… and, quite frankly has an extremely hard time asking for anything. They AREN’T asking for anything…. I am. I know this community loves this couple with everything. It’s time to give back a little bit of the love they so deeply deserve.
