The question I have been asked multiple times is " Why should I take my hard earn cash to give some random stranger by the name of Sylvia Sims?" 

I am small island girl from Bahamas who has learnt what persistence truly is. After loosing my mother to Breast Cancer at the tender age of 11, my father no longer in the picture, my eight siblings and I were forced to fend for ourselves. Many a times food and resources were lacking.

After much trials and tribulations and persistence, I was awarded a full scholarship from the Government of Bahamas to attend St. George's University (SGU) to study medicine.  After successfully completing my first year, I was informed that I lost my scholarship due to lack of funding. 

Outside of this GoFundMe page I've managed to hit the middle mark of $15,000 already, by cooking and baking local Bahamian treats and other donations.

SGU has also agreed to remove $6,000 every semester under the conditions that I return to Bahamas after completing my studies. Leaving a remainder of $15,000. If you prefer to send your donation directly to my school, please see info below.
