Medical Funds for Lea’s Metastatic Breast Cancer

UPDATE: 07/30/2023
As of this day, I'm on my 32nd day in hospice. I was given a few weeks left when they put me in hospice. The picture above shows how my body is deteriorating. Lately, my body is declining in food and fluid. 80% of what I try to put in my mouth, I vomit. Any supplements that I try to take, come right out of my mouth through vomiting too. The muscles in my whole body hurt and very weak especially my lower extremities. If my body keeps on declining anything that I put in my body, I really don’t feel like I’m going to last more than a month.

Unfortunately, we don’t have much budget for memorial services if this happens or even for just cremation. All the donations from now on will be added to whatever extra money we have right now for my cremation.

My kids also would like to go with my parents to spend time in the Philippines when I pass. If the budget allows, it will be a good thing for them. Everything at home will be painful to look at at home and will make them miss their momma more.

It breaks my heart to plan all these but I have to be realistic. I do know and feel my time is running out. I still believe in miracles. Anything can change and can happen. That’ll be amazing. But it’s also not wrong to be ready if things do go south.

I would like to thank you all for all the help you guys have been giving me ever since the beginning that I started my youtube channel. Proves that there are a lot of good people out there who are willing to help and encourage.

Current condition is declining. I have developed cachexia wherein my cancer cells are releasing toxins that eats up my muscles and fats. I’ve lost so much weight and has been very weak. It’s a lot for me to make a few steps from my bedroom to the kitchen or living room.

Just a rewind a few weeks back, I’ve visited MD Anderson and was suggested to start a differed brand targeted therapy. It’s called Verzenio and it’s still partnered with the same hormone blocker Letrozole. Seems like it hasn’t been working too.

Having Cachexia gives me 3 months left, ‘more or less’ they said. I’m still taking my supplements and Verzenio+letrozole. Something might kick in and work.

At this moment I would like to knock onto your hearts again. I would like to raise money to get at least my parents to come here in the US and see me for the last time, and if it’s true I’m gonna lose my life very soon, it’ll be a big help for my husband and kids to have each other and comfort each other when I pass.

Thank you so much for all the support and prayers. Will need a lot more prayers more than anything.

My oncologist told me that she does not have any options for me as per cancer treatment. She encouraged me to either get a 2nd opinion or go on hospice. I have called some hospitals and cancer clinics, from Dr. Bruzynski's to CHIPSA hospital in Mexico. These places require a lot of money for treatments that are going to be very difficult for our family to come up with.

I finally contacted MD Anderson last week. I was given an appointment on March 6th of this year. I am very hopeful that they could find something that could help me

My family's income comes from the Social Security disability payment both me and my husband get. My husband got disabled since 2014 with degenerative discs on both knees from working janitorial work for so many years. I have been working full-time for the family until my Stage 4 Cancer diagnosis.

The money earned from this Gofundme will help us afford the supplements that I've been taking while waiting for another treatment that will be available for me and also some therapies thats needed to help lighten pain, stress, and discomfort but are not covered by my insurance, and will have to pay out of pocket for all of them. Also, if there's some extra, the money will allow for small family trips and new memories to be made as we can't afford them on our own. Since I have been offered hospice by my oncologist and Palliative care doc, they've been telling me to just live my life to the fullest and make happy memories with the family cuz 'we never know'.

Thank you so very much for being part of my journey and please know that this girl is still hoping and praying for a miracle.

I got out of the hospital after almost a month of staying there. I went to the ER because I thought I needed another Thoracentesis, but it turned out that I had a bigger problem. The chemo pill I've been taking has stopped working and, in turn, ruined my liver and kidneys. It also triggered the cancer cells in my bone marrow. My hemoglobin was at a 5 when I got in the ER and because of cancer in my bone marrow, there are not many red blood cells being produced.

I got released from the hospital, also by my request because I was starting to feel depressed. We can wait for the hemoglobin to go up while at home and at the same time I could have more opportunities to work on some exercise to build up muscle mass. Aside from the EPO shots I've been getting, I've been taking lots of supplements that help build up my blood and other good stuff that slows down the cancer metastasis. Your help is so much appreciated for my ongoing fight with this disease.

Below is my youtube account that keeps everybody updated about my health condition. I also shared the supplements I've been taking ever since I was diagnosed with Stage 4:

My oncologist and Palliative doctor have been offering Hospice care so many times but I've been telling them I'm not yet ready for it. I still have A LOT of fight left in me and I'll be using every bit of it.

Thank you SO SO much everyone for all the support, whether its a donation, visiting my youtube channel and subscribing to it and taking time to watch my videos and leaving encouraging comments. From the bottom of our hearts. THANK YOU!

UPDATE:
My current condition is declining. Medicare has sent me a letter stating that my Medicare will start kicking in on December 1st. I called MD Anderson to set up a past December 1st appointment, but they said NO. I will have to call when Medicare has kicked in.

In September of this year, they found a pleural effusion in my left lung that turned out to be malignant. That put my mortality rate up to 1 year.

My oncologist told me we would find out in 2 to 3 months if Ibrance still works. If not, she will put me on a different medication that is 'less effective' than Ibrance. That only means one thing for me, closer to hospice. I refuse to accept that. I feel weaker now, but I know 'I still have a lot of fight left in me'.

I will call MD Anderson on December 1st, and I WILL get an appointment to be seen by the doctors there. With God's help, I could get all of these done.

I am again knocking on your kind hearts; if you could help support my medical journey. I have started a karaoke fundraising for my medical expenses. Singing is my stress reliever. Please join me there and share your songs. You do not have to donate to share your songs or request a song. Either way, I will thank you and appreciate any participation you will make. THANK YOU very much for even taking the time to read my story.

Hi! I’m Lea, and I have stage IV breast cancer. Cancer has spread to my lungs, ribs, spine, bone marrow, and my skull.

I was diagnosed November of 2020. Cancer treatment started 4 months after diagnosis. My body was too weak to start an IV chemo and they also could not start radiation for the same reason. I’m currently on chemo pill (Ibrance) and hormone blocker. I found out that bombarding my body with nutrition through juicing and supplements help me get around.

We have 3 kids still living with us, youngest is 3 years old. My husband and I are both disabled and majority of our income goes to medications and supplements. I’m planning on going to MD Anderson in Texas for further treatments. I have high hopes that they can help me extend my life. We just need some help in making that plan happen.

May you and your family receive great blessings for your kind deed. Thank you very much :-)
