John and Paula Cox have been married 23 years and are the parents of five (5) children, Selissa Thompson, Jillian Cox, John O. Cox, III ("Trey"), Johnathon Cox and Haleigh Cox.
Throughout the years, John has struggled with many health issues including two sets of pulmonary embolisms, a brain bleed, sleep apnea, and seizures.
On January 17th John went to the ER with a severe headache and extreme pain in his neck. After a CT scan and MRI, John was diagnosed with a brain tumor and scheduled for surgery on January 23rd, wherein he was diagnosed with a high grade Glioblastoma brain tumor.
After being moved to ICU John suffered two hemorrhages, one at the site of the tumor removal and another at the bottom of the right side of his skull. At the present time, John is on a feeding tube, is limited in his speech, has limited movement in his right arm and leg and little or no movement in his left arm and leg.
John will be in the ICU for an undetermined amount of time. Following his release he will be scheduled for radiation and chemo.
Throughout the years, God has provided every step of the way to provide for the Cox family. Given John's latest illness, there are many medical bills, prescriptions and other costs associated with this diagnose that will not be covered by medial insurance. In addition, Paula is the only family member living in the household that has a gainful full time job, which she must return to in the near future.
All money raised will be used to pay for medical bills, prescriptions, rehab, sitters, medical equipment and other related expenses
Any donation large or small would be greatly appreciated and would help John and his family fight this cancer.
