Medical Expenses for Mike's Recovery

A couple of weeks ago, my brother Mike was tragically involved in a shooting. Mike suffered from fractures of the jaw, mouth, teeth, and septum(nose); the main fragment of the bullet is still embedded in his neck. Mike was admitted to the ICU for trauma surgery and then taken to the operating room for multiple other procedures. He has had and will have to undergo many appointments/operations and surgeries in order to recover. Mike’s jaw is wired shut and will continue to be for another month. My family and I need your help for the hospital bills that his insurance will not be able to cover and that we will struggle to pay along with the inconvenience of COVID-19.
Mike is the youngest brother of five; he is a son, a brother, and an uncle. Everyone that knows Mike, knows how big of a heart he has; he treats everyone with respect and only has love in him. He is the type of person that would help anyone and even do it with a smile. Mike is there for those around him without ever asking for anything in return, always thinking of himself last. Now it is our turn to help Mike out in his time of need. As unfortunate as the tragic event is that occurred, we never know what life is going to throw our way and we thank God that he is alive. We have come together as a family to ask for any assistance that you can.
Thank God that Mike has been discharged and is doing well. We thank you for all of your prayers. Though Mikey is home now, he will still have to suffer the weight of the hospital bills along with the struggle of recovering. As a family, we’d like to make his healing process an easier one by not having to worry so much about the money right now, but to focus on his upward progress. From the bottom of my heart I thank you all for any contributions during this long road to recovery and healing for my brother MIKE BRO.

Hace un par de semanas, mi hermano Mike estuvo trágicamente involucrado en un tiroteo. Mike sufrió fracturas de mandíbula, boca, dientes y tabique (nariz); el fragmento principal de la bala todavía está incrustado en su cuello. Mike fue admitido en la UCI para una cirugía de trauma y luego llevado a la sala de operaciones para varios otros procedimientos. Ha tenido y tendrá que someterse a muchas citas / operaciones y cirugías para recuperarse. La mandíbula de Mike está cerrada con alambre y seguirá así durante un mes más. Mi familia y yo necesitamos su ayuda para las facturas del hospital que su seguro no podrá cubrir y que tendremos dificultades para pagar junto con las molestias del COVID-19.
Mike es el hermano menor de cinco; es un hijo, un hermano y un tío. Todos los que conocen a Mike saben el gran corazón que tiene; trata a todos con respeto y solo tiene amor en él. Es el tipo de persona que ayudaría a cualquiera e incluso lo haría con una sonrisa. Mike está ahí para quienes lo rodean sin pedir nada a cambio, siempre pensando en sí mismo al final. Ahora es nuestro turno de ayudar a Mike en su momento de necesidad. Por muy lamentable que sea el trágico acontecimiento que ocurrió, nunca sabemos lo que la vida nos va a deparar y agradecemos a Dios que esté vivo. Nos hemos reunido en familia para pedir cualquier ayuda que puedan.
Gracias a Dios que Mike ha sido dado de alta y está bien. Te damos las gracias por todas tus oraciones. Aunque Mikey está en casa ahora, todavía tendrá que sufrir el peso de las facturas del hospital junto con la lucha por recuperarse. Como familia, nos gustaría hacer que su proceso de curación sea más fácil al no tener que preocuparse tanto por el dinero en este momento, sino concentrarnos en su progreso ascendente. Desde el fondo de mi corazón les agradezco a todos por cualquier contribución durante este largo camino hacia la recuperación y sanación de mi hermano MIKE R.
