On September 20th, Doug was in a motorcycle accident in Albany causing serious injuries.
Doug was initially taken to Good Sam in Corvallis but was transported to OHSU when his condition worsened. He is currently in a coma in the ICU with a pretty serious brain injury among other serious injuries. We are hopeful for a full recovery, however doctors say that could take up to a year.
This is obviously creating a myriad of hardships, especially for Taunya, Dylan, and Jacob. Doug does have medical insurance but there is still expenses including deductibles, travel and lodging, and time lost from work. These expenses will continue throughout his recovery.
We all love Doug and know how great of a father, husband, friend, and all around person he is. Any amount that you can give would be greatly appreciated and would not go unnoticed. If you are unable to give, that is understandable, but sending positive thoughts and prayers is also appreciated.
Obviously money isn’t the only thing that will help ease the burden. We are working on arranging meals for Taunya and the boys as well as helping in anyway possible. If you’d like to help with this or offer other assistance feel free to reach out to Debbie (Doug’s mother-in-law) or Julie.
