Medical Expense Relief for Scott (Bud) Landis
Donación protegida
Scott Landis, as many of you know, was diagnosed with Covid on Christmas Eve and admitted to the hospital. Just two days later he had to be intubated and placed on a ventilator in a medically induced coma. At some point during his sedation he suffered a stroke which has impacted his right side.
As his lungs began to recover they reduced his sedation and he did not wake up. We were urged by the doctors and nurses to allow them to place a tracheostomy and feeding tube. We fought hard to give him every chance we could to wake up on his own and unfortunately on January 23rd after 28 days on the ventilator we had no choice but to allow them to do the tracheotomy.
Scott and Joan have just built their new home and even purchase his very first brand new pickup truck. So far he has been admitted for 30 days and many more weeks to come, we all want to make sure the last thing Joan should have to worry about is the financial burden.
When Scott is well enough to breathe on his own without the ventilator he will still need weeks of extensive inpatient therapy followed by months of outpatient rehabilitation, due to the stroke, to regain his mobility.
He is as tough and they come and we know he has the strength to pull through all of this. The outpouring of love, prayers and support has been overwhelming and greatly appreciated by the entire Landis family. Thank you all and please keep praying.
