Medical Care for Injured Kitten

Hello! My name is Alysha and I am fundraising for Nym.

Nym is a 7 week old kitten who was spotted rolling across a busy highway on 5/24/2022. Two cars avoided hitting him and he landed curbside, where a friend of mine blocked traffic so she could retrieve him.

Miraculously, Nym was very much alive but his front, left leg was completely limp. My friend took him to the nearest emergency room where an exam and xrays revealed no life-threatening injuries for little, 1 lb Nym.

For this reason, we believe Nym was tossed out of a window of a moving car rather than actually hit.

Nym does, however, have a broken/dislocated elbow. The medical-ese is humeral chondyle fracture (type 1). There is also nerve damage and Nym is completely unable to use the limb.

Another friend and rescuer took Nym late that night to foster. He was then seen by a local vet for routine medical evaluation and deworming. There it was determined that the best option for Nym is to amputate the affected leg. This surgery is scheduled for 6/13.

Nym is in his foster home with a small dog who LOVES cats. He is a wonderful kitten with expressive eyes and a playful, engaged personality. The ER vet visit was an enormous expense on the good samaritan who found him and the amputation and follow up care are an added strain on the foster. It is kitten season, and rescues are unable to take his case due to overwhelming numbers. At this time, all of Nym's expenses are being paid for out of pocket. 

The timeliness is getting pressing, as the problem limb is starting to swell and lose hair.

We would like to see this dumped and abandoned kitten live his best life and are asking for funds to help get him the medical care he needs. Attached are photos of invoices and estimates for his upcoming surgery. And of course, photos of the little survivor.
