Medical Assistants for Debra Patton

For the Love of Debra Patton mother of Cami Zobel and Brian Evenden.

On Saturday December 19th, 2020 my Debra  started her day out as she always did, with the thought of how she could help her family. The day went on as planned doing home projects with her family. Around 7 pm she started having mild stomach upset quickly progressing and she collapsed to floor. She insisted she was fine she just needed to rest thinking she must have ate something that didn’t agree with her. The illness progressed with worsening symptoms and by 9 am Sunday her blood pressure had plummeted to 70 systolic, she was very weak, and she was taken by ambulance to the local hospital. We had very little info the first 3 days and the doctors caring for her uncertain as to what caused the illness.
Through the miraculous help of coworkers she was transported by ambulance to the hospital where her daughter works. Debra rapidly deteriorate over the following days, less responsive, new onset of seizures, and brain swelling.
December 28th, 2020 she was intubated,  placed on ventilator support and put into a medically induced coma to stop the storm of seizures and reduce brain swelling.
There are many questions with no answers. The medical staff have been reaching out to all their colleagues in an attempt to come up with a diagnosis and treatment plan.
Debras medical expenses continue to climb. She is on a wait list for transport to Harbourview Hospital in Seattle,  requiring critical care air transport.
We have been told this is similar to other cases seen in patients with post COVID response. One day your fine and the next your critically ill declining quickly.

Debra has been there to help others over the years and now she needs your help, she lost her husband Billy Patton to cancer in February of 2019 and has returned to Alaska August 2020 to be close to her family.
Debra is a kind and loving Mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her devotion to her family is endless.
