Medical and Living Expenses for Jo

Hi my name is Caitlin and I hate that I have to do this, but it's one of the most important things I can do to help my friend Jo.

Jo Bartlett has lived through several lives of suffering. Currently, she is in year two of her cancer diagnosis - stage 4 primary cardiac angiosarcoma. She's had open heart surgery and several rounds of debilitating chemo drugs, countless side effects, PTSD from those side effects, ever-growing medical debt, and so on. Treatment prevents her from working, which prevents her from earning anything to pay for basic necessities including her apartment, food, service dog needs, and her car payments.

Because of this she has faced eviction and had her car repossessed. The bank is asking for $5,000 or they will auction the car off after Christmas. This is why the amount here is set at $5,000. She is immunocompromised and is currently on crutches, making public transportation massively difficult and still expensive. 

Her need is urgent and she has no means or other path to get her car back. 

Many of us know someone impacted by cancer. It sucks, to put it kindly. But it is near-impossible to have cancer and function without a community. Jo doesn't have a community and she can no longer do this without wider assistance.

I wish I had a soppy underdog story to tell you that would move you to cry and then donate, but I don't. Real life is messy and ugly and has terrible timing. Cancer is unforgiving and does not discriminate and is made that much more difficult without stable housing or transportation.
