My sister kala and brother in law Phill were ecstatic to welcome to the world their two boys, Colton Paul 5lbs 10oz, and his little brother Levi Robert 6lbs 9oz on January 19th, 2015. Levi was younger by a minute, but heavier by almost a pound. : ) What amazing little miracles they are! Two and a half weeks after being born, Levi was diagnosed with a rare disease called SCIDs, which basically means he has no immune system. They are now on a journey where they are learning to completely trust in the one true God.
SCID or Severe combined immunodeficiency disease: A combined deficiency of the immune system's two major weapons -- antibodies and T cells -- are genetically missing or disabled. Severe combined immunodeficiency disease (SCID) is rare. The chances of a child being born with SCID are about one in 60,000 births.
There are a number of different causes of SCID. Each is caused by a different genetic defect, and each develops along a different pathway.
Whatever the underlying problem that causes SCID, the consequences are nearly always the same. The child lacks almost all immune defenses, develops life-threatening infections, and needs major treatment to survive beyond infancy. Although the specifics vary from case to case, these children are vulnerable to serious infections caused by bacteria, and also by viruses and germs. Viruses that are not harmful in children with normal immunity can pose a serious danger to those with SCIDs.

-Levi loves to hang out with his twin brother Colton Paul.
-He has the cutest squeaks and does this continually, even while sleeping and eating.
-He loves to smile in his sleep. BUT don't try to wake him up because he's not a happy camper then!
-He absolutely adores his daddy, Phill, and cuddles with him often.
