Help Matt with brain tumor removal surgery

Anyone that knows Matt knows that he is all about helping others become the vision of what they want to be, physically and mentally. He does not believe in the word “can’t” and gives those around him, family, friends, clients that become friends and family, the ability to see that the only limit placed on them is the internal one of the mind.
I’ve had the blessed pleasure of knowing Matt since he was 17 and for the last almost three years being by his side as his wife. He is supportive, understanding and encouraging in all aspects of his personal and professional life and that is why I have created this Go Fund Me for him, to be supportive and let those he has touched the lives of show their support now when he is on the flip side and is the one that needs it.
Matt began to lose his hearing on his right side gradually over the the last five years and one day after a bout with an illness seemed to spontaneously lose all hearing in that side. After being misdiagnosed and even subsequently getting hearing aids to ensure that while he was with family and friends and his clients he was able to give them the attention they need, he was finally diagnosed recently with an acoustic neuroma. An acoustic neuroma is a brain tumor that is benign and causes one-sided deafness, facial paralysis, headaches, and balance issues. Because Matt had been misdiagnosed years prior, the tumor had time to grow and now needs to be removed to ensure it doesn’t cause more damage to his facial nerve as well as so that it doesn’t continue to put pressure on his brain. Unfortunately his hearing in that ear cannot be recovered at this point but we can lessen any other effects by getting it removed as soon as possible.
Upon diagnosis we sprung into action immediately and began to do research on the most experienced and expert surgeons and doctors in the country that dealt with this extremely rare condition, 1 out of 100,000 people have an acoustic neuroma.
We were able to get connected with two of the leading experts in this field and are preparing for treatment within their group. Since they are not local, they are out of UCSD, we will need to travel to have the surgery on Matt’s brain to have this tumor removed. We will not only have the expense of getting there and back, but a 14 day stay in San Diego as well as potentially a month or more that Matt will be recovering at home.
We are asking for any donation, none is too small, to help ease the financial burden so that Matt can truly get the best care possible so that he can continue to be the encouraging and supportive friend, life coach, trainer to his clients, father and husband that he is now.
