Hi, my name is Mitzi and I am trying to raise funds to help one of my very best friends. She & I have been friends for almost 35 years. Mary & I have been through good times & bad: weddings, births, divorces & deaths. We've watched each others children grow & been their 'Aunts' all these years. She's been through so much in her 48 years. So many love & count on her, family as well as friends. She would never ask for help & it pains her to let other people know about her struggles & illness. In fact, she will probably be a little unhappy with me for doing this. However, as her oldest friend, I will ask. I will get on my knees & beg if necessary.

Mary Ellen has been fighting cancer for over 6 years. Colon, liver, then lung. Even after surgeries, chemo, sickness & travel to treatments, she has done her very best to work when she is able. While also being very active in the lives of her 3 children & grandson. Her most recent treatment has made her incredibly ill, but at the behest of her kids, she has agreed to go to MD Anderson in Houston & see if there is something else that can be done. She has fought to a degree that completely amazes & humbles me. I want to find some way to ease some of the burden of travel, hotels, food & bills. Mary Ellen is one of the bravest, strongest, most caring people I know & I ask anyone that is able, please help lift a little weight off of her shoulders & mind. Please anything will help.
