Marcias White
As a High School Athlete scheduled to begin recruitment tours for colleges offering Crew Scholarships, eighteen year old Marcias White was poised and prepared to chase her dreams. She has rowed competitively since age 13, competing at National Class events since age 16. Her dream is to continue rowing competitively and studying law with a goal of a CIA partnership.
Spring break on the beach with friends, and a freak accident have changed those plans and placed her family in crisis. Marcias was airlifted to Harborville Hospital in Seattle, on April 7th, 2018 and had two feet of steel rods surgically implanted to support the spinal cord injury that extends from T10 through S2. Family are praying the paralysis is temporary and that Marcias strong will and determination will bring her back to her dreams.
Everyone who knows this strong, beautiful woman; her friends at Juanita High School and the Four Square Church in Kirkland, her teammates and mentors at the Seattle Rowing Center, her family and support group believe Marcias will do everything possible to recover. But she needs help.
She has a great example of what it takes in her father, Kerry, another rower, who has gone through seventeen surgeries to recover from a fall. Kerry is the one who will be her primary caregiver when Marcias is released from Harborview on May 11th. Mom, Abigail, is working to keep the family afloat.
Before leaving Harborview, the family needs a wheel chair friendly car, a new one story rental, and help with the current and ongoing catastrophic medical bills and costs of physical therapy.
Any donation you can make will help this strong young woman return to her potential and achieve her dreams.
