My name is Jodie and my family, like so many others in Madison and beyond, love and adore Lori Mann Carey and her beautiful family. Earlier this week, there was a request for powerful healing prayers for Lori. . .The prayer warriors stepped up and have risen to this opportunity! Along with it, there have been many inquiries about Lori and how people can further help. I asked Lori’s children these very questions and below is how they responded. Your love is healing. We love you Carey Family!
To Whom It May Concern,
We are writing you this letter because we heard a lot of people are reaching out wanting to help our family during this trying time. For all those who know our mother and our family, you know that our mother is a southside village mom and spiritual warrior. She has instilled in our lives, and those who have come to call her “Mama Lori” that we always have to walk by faith and not by sight.
During this time many of us have been called upon to move along that path, though we might not always have a clear perception of what’s to come. Yet we move along that path with dignity, spirit, and love, because of those who pour into us, and those who allow us to pour into them. At this moment, our family is asking the community to pour all your support, all your energy, and all the healing you can offer to Mama Lori Mann Carey. She’s in the battle of, and for, her life right now, and we remain steadfast, with our “walk by faith, not by sight” faith and mantra.
If you’ve had the fortunate opportunity to be with Mama Lori at a sporting event, you know she’s an avid cheerleader until the very last second of the game. She cheered for your children as loud as she cheered for her own! As you may have heard her say, the game isn’t over until the clock runs out! and there’s still time on the clock. Amen, Selah, Asé.
We are so thankful to hear that so many family friends want to help cheer her on by asking us what we need.
We want to be as transparent as possible, so that God may work divine miracles through you and aid us out of this mucky situation. Our mother’s business and our father’s job were drastically affected by this three-year battle, as well as by this world-shifting coronavirus. We graciously accept any gifts, food, or financial support you send our way. Here is some information:
Prayer - If you would like to pray/meditate/send thoughts please focus those intentions on healing, health, energy, appetite and anything else that continues to breathe life into Mama Lori.
Financial Support - Between the mortgage/utility and other bills, insurance payments, loss of jobs, and commuting/relocations, our family is scrambling to make it all work out. We’re asking for donations to help us with this debt, as well as help take care of our mother, in order to extend her life as much as the Lord will allow.
Meal Train - Our cousin has set up a meal train that you can sign up for at

Whichever way you’re able to support and cheer on our mom is so, so much
appreciated.
With infinite love, light and gratitude,
The Carey Family
