On October 7, Makeisha was diagnosed with stage 2A breast cancer. This means the cancer has spread to a lymph node but nowhere else in her body.
Her treatment starts in November.

All of this will limit Makeisha's ability to work. She works in the service industry and is not paid for time off.
Fortunately, insurance is covering the majority of treatment costs. However, there are expenses she's already had to pay for - and will need to pay for - throughout treatment.
At only 32 years old, her diagnosis is surprising! She's so young.
But she knows she'll get through this. Her spirits are high and her attitude is positive. It's truly inspiring.
