Make life a little more comfortable for my family
Donación protegida
I have always been the kind of person who tries to help out whenever possible. A couple years ago I stepped up to help out my sister and her children. My nephew has a rare medical condition SMAPME and Faber's disease. He requires extensive respiratory treatments daily and receives his meals through a GT tube and is wheelchair bound. My niece is Autistic and requires a lot of consistency. My sister, niece and nephew moved into my house and I have changed my home and life to support their needs.
My home is a split entry and not handicapped accessible. The temporary solution is an emergency rescue chair to get my nephew to the 2nd floor. This is only going to work temporarily. I am currently working on getting options to have an elevator lift or sidewalk to go to the back of my home so we can enter him on the main floor of the house. I would love if anyone has someone who can look at the unique layout and give us some ideas to please reach out. Give me estimates and or ideas.
I purchased a Handicapped Accessible Caravan to make getting my nephew around easier and more comfortable for all of us. I have a car loan for this each month.
The family room in my house is an unheated room that I would only use when the weather permitted. This room is now used year round and was heated with a space heater. My nephew's bedroom is very warm all year long. His equipment heats the room and makes it extremely uncomfortable for him. I had an air conditioning unit in my living room which was unable to be repaired. I made the decision to update the heating and cooling system in these 3 rooms to ensure comfort and temperature control in our home. I also needed to take out a loan for this.
The 3 examples above only begin to list what I have put into making this situation a little better for everyone. The expenses dealing with a Medically Fragile child is endless. Currently my nephew is in the hospital which is preventing me from working my 2nd job. This job is what I would typically use to pay for the loans I have for the Wheelchair Van and the heating/cooling system.
I am asking for help so I can continue to make my home and commutes as comfortable as possible for my family. I took them in and will never look back with regrets its was meant to be. The only downside of the situation would be the financial responsibility that was added to making my home accessible to them. The updates and changes that are needed are never ending. I will ensure their needs are made no matter the cost. Any help is appreciated and that also goes for if you know contractors / landscapers who are willing to look at my home to see if they have suggestions as to how to make accessibility to the 1st floor. And if not anything else please keep our family in your prayers,
