Madison Paulette Fertility Preservation & Healing

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,

Many of you know our little sister, daughter, friend, cousin, niece, aunt, teacher, adopted mother (Ugandan Kids) and my big sister, Madison Paulette was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

If you have known her throughout her life, for a moment, or just in passing, then you know the type of young woman Madison is. She is an inspiring woman that is a wonderful combination of both strength and beauty.  She radiates joy and inspires laughter in everything she does. Madison LOVES so well. She cherishes her family with every ounce of who she is, and she cares deeply for any person or animal she is around, especially cows and her dog Finn.  She inspires creativity in the students she has taught over the years. She is one of the bravest and toughest women I have ever known.

Madison is set to embark on a journey of healing. As her brother, I have been given the privilege of creating this Caring Bridge to invite friends, family, fellow believers, and anyone who might join in the battle along the way to keep up to date in her journey. We will update periodically with progress in treatment, ways you can be praying, and how you can actively assist Madison in the process of treatment and recovery.

This journey may be long and arduous, but one thing that defines Madison is her faith in her Healing Father. In her words, “I love and serve a God who lived a pure and perfect life among us, experienced every kind of pain and temptation we do in order to die so that we could be HEALED. Some of you may think I‘m crazy but I believe when we walk in step with Christ he can and will provide so much more than comfort. He heals. He is alive and well, in spirit living in us. I can trust that no matter what, I am going to be more than ok and I will be able to testify to that when this period of my life ends. I will get married, I will have babies. I will go on to tell the story of God’s sovereignty over my life and it will be BEAUTIFUL. I can’t wait to celebrate with you all. In the meantime... Let’s pray hard together.”

The treatment:

This week Madison will step into the largest trial she has been given- decisions and planning. There are many treatments, doctor visits, and follow up appointments to come. The first steps toward healing the body which God has entrusted to her.

Monday (4/12) Madison will go in to get a port placed to begin chemotherapy soon.

Chemotherapy is a big word, with a lot of negative feelings associated with it, but it is in fact a gift from God to bring healing to the body. Chemo will begin shrinking the tumors that have grown in her body. There will be many months of healing to come in this form. I will keep you all updated along the way.

There are a lot of side effects that come with the chemotherapy and the other medicines that Madison will be taking to heal. One of these side effects can affect future family. Madison comes from a big family and is one of four siblings. We believe with every ounce of our faith that Madison will one day be a mother to her own beautiful children. Madison is taking steps to help assist in that process. In the next month, Madison will undergo a procedure as a part of a fertility preservation program. While this gift of modern medicine is a huge blessing to families, it is not covered by insurance for people undergoing cancer treatment. This is where we need your help.

We are so grateful for all the people who have reached out offering support, prayers, and assistance in any way. The first big ask we have is to PRAY. Pray for full and total healing! God is a miracle working God. He heals our souls and will one day heal all of humanity from the curse of sin. We believe the HOLY SPIRIT is ACTIVE and ALIVE today working among his people and healing the bodies of humanity in miraculous ways. So first we ask that you pray.

The second big ask is for financial assistance directly to Madison. Funding will directly go towards the procedures, storage, and future expenses for the fertility preservation program Madison will be taking part in beginning in April. As previously mentioned, insurance will not cover this treatment. There are many expenses tied to this program: the initial cost of the procedure, the storage for years to come, and when the time is right, the implantation. In short, this will be a great cost, but well worth every penny spent. Family is so important to Madison and we are confident that God has a plan in place for her to have a family one day through this preservation process.  This procedure is and will be a gift for years to come, and we are asking for your help, to help Madison.

We are working on a few ways in which we can raise support for Madison. In addition to opening a fundraising account in Madison’s name, stay tuned for a few fundraising events and art sales of Madison’s artwork. I will follow up in the next few days with ways to support Madison.

Our sweet Madison is about to embark on a journey that will no doubt be difficult, but in her words, “we are about to kick its hiney!”
