Little Forrest Wolfram Bauer has arrived!

Dear friends, family, and kind souls around the world,

We are overjoyed to announce the arrival of our precious son, Forrest Wolfram Bauer, born on July 6th, 2024. Forrest weighed 3280 grams and measured 53 centimeters, making his grand entrance into our lives with a story that spans continents and hearts.

Shortly after birth, Holly wrote the following letter to Forrest:

Dear Forrest,

24 hours ago from this very moment we had spent 2 days laboring and another 6 hours in Diakonissen Hospital trying our absolute best to get you into this world. Our little creation, made in Portugal, brewed in England and now to make your grand entrance out into Germany. Our little cultured being who kicks his mamma every day from the inside out.

We had so many hopes & dreams of your entrance into this world. We never imagined it to be the way that it was but when you were placed so gently next to us we couldn’t believe a creation so perfect could exist.

It was 5am when I turned to your dad and said I want an elective caesarean. My intuition told me this was the way you had to come. Only after the doctor cut your mum at the belly and pulled you out into the world were we told that a delivery via the vaginal way would have never been possible. We could have pushed for days and you’d never have come. That’s because you were stuck in your mums pelvis at an angle you could never have come out from. And can you believe you had your umbilical cord wrapped TWICE around your neck. This was what was making your heart rate drop so much every time your mum contracted and tried to push you out.

You wanted to make your entrance into this world how you wanted & for that I am grateful. In 60 hours you taught me so much about letting go and releasing, even when it’s not what you envisioned to happen.

I don’t know exactly how and why this happened how it did. I know at the moment the doctor was cutting me open I made a decision that all I wanted was to make your entrance into this world a moment to remember. I wanted it to be a fond memory for me, for you and for your dad. And that’s what we did. We laughed. HARD. And we loved one another. Just the way we did from the very first moment we met each other. Laughter echoed around that surgery room to the beat of Forrest! I will never forget the sweet melody of your very first cry as the doctor with the kindest eyes pulled you out from me and how subsequently his eyes filled with tears when I thanked him for handling you with such great care!

And now you get to join your dad & I in our silly little life, I can only hope that you always see the silliness of it all. And through your life, when you find yourself in times of struggle (there will be quite a few) just go to that place in your centre & ask how do I want to remember this moment.

From the beautiful beginnings of our love story at a nature restoration project PurposeFlow_Living, to the incredible support and kindness we've encountered, we are endlessly grateful.

The collected money is not only to purchase immediate necessities for Forrest but to invest in his future and ensure he grows up in an environment that nurtures him holistically and sustainably.
