TEAM KATHLEEN
Friends & Family,
I am training to run the Boston Marathon on April 20th and will be raising money for the American Stroke Association. As some of you may know, my cousin Kathleen Hayes suffered a stroke at the age of 47. Kathleen is a healthy active mother of four. Luckily the people she works with recognized the signs and symptoms of a stroke and called 911. Kathleen was treated quickly and is recovering well.
My goal is to raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of a stroke. The American Stroke Association uses the term F.A.S.T as a way to remember the signs:
Face drooping
Arm weakness
Speech difficulty
Time to call 911
My goal is to finish, not sure how fast I will be, but more importantly I will be thinking of Kathleen throughout my training and during the race.
Please join me and become a member by donating to TEAM KATHLEEN. Any amount is apprectiated. I would also love to see you along the course!
Thank you,
Leslie
